ELIGIBILITY FOR ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP

Applicants for Active Membership in AMMI Canada must meet one of the following criteria:

Physicians certified in Infectious Diseases by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the Collège des médecins du Québec.
Physicians certified in Medical Microbiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the Collège des médecins du Québec.
Physicians who have completed the Royal College requirements in a clinical discipline and at least two (2) years of Infectious Diseases training.
Individuals with a doctoral degree or equivalent (e.g., Clinical Microbiologists) whose qualifications and merit are approved by the Council.
Physicians and surgeons whose qualifications and merit approved the Council.

APPLICATION PROCESS

To apply, submit a membership application form with evidence of your qualifications, endorsed by an Active Member of the Association. AMMI Canada will review your application. If approved, you will receive an invoice for the annual membership dues, including payment instructions. Membership is activated upon payment of the first year’s dues

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

Member Rights and Responsibilities:

Receive notices and attend all Association meetings with full voting rights.
Eligible to Chair AMMI Canada committees and working groups.
Abide by processes and policies as determined by AMMI Canada.
Uphold professional and ethical conduct in alignment with the Association’s standards.

Membership year: January to December.

Annual dues: $405.00 + applicable taxes (based on your province of residence).

DUES PAYMENT POLICY

Annual dues must be paid within six (6) months of the renewal date or before registering for any member-discounted events, such as the Medical Microbiology Review Course or the Annual Conference. If dues remain unpaid after the six-month period, the Active Membership status will be revoked, and the individual will no longer have access to membership benefits.

This policy ensures timely renewals and continued access to the resources and opportunities provided by AMMI Canada.
