Mentorship Subcommittee

Chair: Dr. Jennifer Tam, Dr. Evan Wilson, Dr. Michael Payne

The Mentorship Subcommittee falls under the Continuing Professional Development Committee. This national program connects medical microbiology, paediatric ID, adult ID and clinical microbiology trainees and recent graduates with career mentors. Studies have shown residents who have mentors are more successful in procuring employment and further training opportunities post clinical training! Mentors also report increased job satisfaction and decreased burnout.

The goal is to create a positive mentorship experience by pairing appropriate mentors with mentees based on stated needs as well as to provide tools and guidelines to maximize the benefit of the mentorship experience.

Applications to become a mentor or mentee open in early Fall and matches are made in late Fall.
